Meet Jessica
A variety of life, educational and work experiences have led Jessica to a commitment to public service. One experience in particular that has propelled her to run for Board of Supervisors-Clover Hill District is the personal interactions she has had with Chesterfield County representatives, including the current occupant of the Clover Hill District seat on the Board of Supervisors.
For the past 7 years, Jessica has been involved in the Bexley Homeowners Association in several different positions: member of the Architectural Committee, Board director for 2 years, and President for the past 4 years. During this time, 2 new developments were built within the community, requiring her to advocate on behalf of the HOA multiple times regarding issues that came up along the way. Attempts to gain understanding and answers from the builders regarding her community’s concerns were ignored, so she contacted the county and ended up getting bounced from one department to the next. On and on the excuses continued with no concrete answers. A process that should have been completely transparent and easy to navigate, turned out to be thoroughly frustrating.
Jessica believes that Chesterfield residents deserve better!
Growing up on a small farm in Wisconsin, hard work was engrained in Jessica at a very young age, and her parents also taught her the importance of community service by being long-time Scout leaders, a religious educator, and volunteer EMT/firefighter. She has an educational background in art/design as well as years of experience in the culinary/restaurant industry. These careers have provided her with a unique perspective and empathy that she utilizes when analyzing situations and finding creative solutions to problems, which would be an asset to the Board.
Jessica is all about open communication and community outreach . . . helping her neighbors, finding common ground among conflicting beliefs, and never giving up! She is a survivor of domestic and gun violence, a mom (of 2-legged and 4-legged kids), a wife, and a defender of the underdog.
Jessica is eager to serve her Magisterial District as the Supervisor of Clover Hill!
